Review of Vignette Wine Country Soda
Vignette was kind enough to supply us with some samples of their very excellent and quite unique soft drinks.
Vignette melds the best of wine with the refreshing and familiar taste of a soft drink. They use California wine grapes for a fizzy and delicious blend that tastes simply amazing when chilled.
The soda comes in 12 oz bottles, and is only 100 calories per bottle, significantly more healthy than a bottle of regular soda. The ingredients list impressed me, containing filtered carbonated water, chardonnay grape juice, citric acid, and natural flavors. No high fructose corn syrup here! No caffeine or alcohol either. This is certainly a healthy soda.
Perhaps one of the most fun parts of this soda is pairing it with meals. Being Chardonnay, I paired it with a chicken dish and was quite impressed. One of the first things I noticed was it’s flavorful aroma. It may not contain the same alcohol as wine, but it certainly shares the same sweet aroma.
Taste wise, it’s impossible to notice that this doesn’t have sugar added. It’s sweet, flavorful, and oh-so delicious. Those looking for the same sweet but sharp taste of wine need look no further.
